A little sketch I did for

akamine_chan 's cute

bandom_meme prompt 'Party Poison/Fun Ghoul, kink: tenderness '. It's a kink-themed round at the moment, which sort of limits what I can draw as a lot of people are a bit squicked out by graphic, kinky drawings, so Aka's prompt was perfect. This is also a celebration of sorts ending my secondary schooling - now onto university!

So I finally finished my illustration for the

fangedfrerard challenge! I drew a scene from

akamine_chan 's amazing story burning up in the sun (seriously, go check it out!) and it was a lot of fun.

I filled lucifuge5's prompt: "Touring is a total pain when you're a vampire nest."

This was a lot of fun to draw! I'm not exactly happy with the way it turned out (mostly it's the half-assed background) but the idea was great to work with. This is set sort of during early Revenge era. I messed around with canonical time frames a bit, I think.

I thought that if the band were vampires, they'd use an umbrella to stay out of the sun while they're outside. This picture makes no sense at all. If it were a fic, it would be crack.

RL update: I've finally finished secondary school, officially! It feels great to never have another English class. Now all I have left is my exams and then it's (hopefully) off to uni!

I will have a little bit more free time for the next few weeks, so I can be more active in fandom. At the moment I've signed up for the

fangedfrerard fest/challenge for illustrating, so I'm really excited about that and it'll give me something to focus on besides revision. My brain will fry if I don't have a distraction.

I also signed up for

imadeathing but I've yet to choose a prompt - I think I will choose embroidery or needlework as I have a stupid big Mario Mushroom I should have finished a long time ago and I would like to get it finished over Christmas in time for the deadline. I'll probably also start about five other things because I just do that.

I'm still steadily editing what I have of various half-recorded podfics. I'm really wary of the sound quality changing as I stop/start recording, so I'm waiting for a long period of time in which I can just finish recording a whole bunch in one go.

I also drew some sketches! They're not illustrations for stories or anything, but at least I'm drawing. It's great to not have to draw things for school anymore.

So I made a prompt at

bandom_meme - Victorian!AU - To keep their relationship secret, Gerard crossdresses and becomes his brother's wife, Geraldine (if you can think of a better name please use it) whenever they're in public. I decided to fill it myself because I thought about it a lot, and also I felt like drawing.

Note: This picture is not sexually explicit, in fact, there are almost no sexual tones to it, apart from that Gerard is crossdressing.

But! The picture has a ~~little~~ plot bunny to go with it, because otherwise it wouldn't make much sense.

Not that the plot bunny makes any sense.

I was meant to be practicing a new way of drawing perspective where you use cubes to determine depth, and then one of the cube people turned into Frank! and then a new cube person appeared underneath Frank and it was Mikey! And suddenly there was also a background, and I'd been drawing for like six hours, and the Accidental VanDays drawing was born.

Also, where do I post fanart here at Dreamwidth? I've posted at bandslashmania at LJ before, but it feels more a fic-directed community.

Turps suggested I draw MyChem in drag... I didn't need any other encouragement. (I don't really like the dress, though, I had a different idea for it but it came out looking like this instead. It's also not as blue in the hard copy. Also the anatomy is horrible.) I used traditional media because I haven't in a while. Unfortunately I forgot that meant I had to scan in and fix the colours in Photoshop. Ugh, never again. These are watercolours, by the way, and pen. While I was drawing it my chihuahua puppy was in my lap and he chewed the bottom edge of my good watercolour paper all to a mushy mess. :( I like the stockings and the garter belt, I have a pair and they're so awesome.

I never start anything with intent, though, so instead here's a scene from this hypothetical story I'll never write!

It's sort of based on 'There is a Light That Never Goes out' by The Smiths, the not having anywhere to go sort of feeling, the loneliness and the hopelessness. This scene would be just after Frank leaves and he just sits down on a park bench and smokes until it gets dark because he's stuck, he can't go back home and he doesn't have any money and can't afford a motel. I don't think he'd sleep that night, I think he'd just sit on the bench and wait until morning. And then he'd start just walking. Seriously, I do not have the angst power to write this thing.

I tried out a new drawing style. It's pretty dramatic with all the shadows. Um, I like the yellow light. I really like the pose. Also, Frank finally looks like Frank! \o/! I hate drawing Frank because I can't, but I enjoyed drawing this. Uh, what else. Oh, the buttons on his bag are Killjoy colours, that was a lame intended sort of in-joke. Heh. ( Click Here )

Okay, so. This was done for a prompt from lucifuge5 over at bandom_meme on Dreamwidth. The prompt was 'Botanist!Frank can talk to plants. He's just started to date Mikeyway (but has kept his ~talent~ a secret.) What's Mikeyway's reaction when he discovers it? Does Mikeyway has a ~talent~ too?'

I accidentally drew a picture instead of anything actually relevant.

Not sure if this is entirely finished yet... I wanted to put it up here tonight before I went to bed, so I think I rushed the last bits.

This is an illustration based on sinsense's 'Skin of the Canvas'. It's a truly awesome AU where Gerard is a recovering alcoholic art student and Frank is a nude model who poses for his life drawing class. This is inspired by a scene in the story.

Frank is sort of smirking at Gerard because Gerard's a giant loser when he draws and gets all *concentration face* and can only speak in monosyllables.

I really wanted to explore sunlight, shadows, and colour with this one. I think it turned out okay. Frank looks like Frank, which is pretty important. Gerard is... recognisable. Mostly I loved drawing (and looking at) the shadows. I added a lot of purple to the picture to balance out the yellow sunlight.

Frank doesn't have his tattoos because after, what, eight hours? I just couldn't be bothered! Also, it's surprisingly difficult to find good references for them.

Onwards to the drawing!
