New Fandoms Are Scary, You Guys

So I haven't been around for a while, and mostly it's been due to my illustration course being a bit stressful and the band breakup and the stuff with Mikey changing the way I think about fandom. Basically I feel like it's stressing me out too much to continue being a fun release from everyday worries. So for the past few weeks I've taken a step back and concentrated on school and life for a while - and I let new fandoms in.

A little sketch I did for akamine_chan 's cute bandom_meme prompt 'Party Poison/Fun Ghoul, kink: tenderness '. It's a kink-themed round at the moment, which sort of limits what I can draw as a lot of people are a bit squicked out by graphic, kinky drawings, so Aka's prompt was perfect. This is also a celebration of sorts ending my secondary schooling - now onto university!

I filled lucifuge5's prompt: "Touring is a total pain when you're a vampire nest."

This was a lot of fun to draw! I'm not exactly happy with the way it turned out (mostly it's the half-assed background) but the idea was great to work with. This is set sort of during early Revenge era. I messed around with canonical time frames a bit, I think.

I thought that if the band were vampires, they'd use an umbrella to stay out of the sun while they're outside. This picture makes no sense at all. If it were a fic, it would be crack.

Things!

Not many interesting things, but things!

RL update: I've finally finished secondary school, officially! It feels great to never have another English class. Now all I have left is my exams and then it's (hopefully) off to uni!

I will have a little bit more free time for the next few weeks, so I can be more active in fandom. At the moment I've signed up for the

fangedfrerard fest/challenge for illustrating, so I'm really excited about that and it'll give me something to focus on besides revision. My brain will fry if I don't have a distraction.

I also signed up for imadeathing but I've yet to choose a prompt - I think I will choose embroidery or needlework as I have a stupid big Mario Mushroom I should have finished a long time ago and I would like to get it finished over Christmas in time for the deadline. I'll probably also start about five other things because I just do that.

I'm still steadily editing what I have of various half-recorded podfics. I'm really wary of the sound quality changing as I stop/start recording, so I'm waiting for a long period of time in which I can just finish recording a whole bunch in one go.

I also drew some sketches! They're not illustrations for stories or anything, but at least I'm drawing. It's great to not have to draw things for school anymore.

Also, I ordered a Smashing Pumpkins shirt from eBay and I'm really excited waiting for its arrival.

So I made a prompt at bandom_meme - Victorian!AU - To keep their relationship secret, Gerard crossdresses and becomes his brother's wife, Geraldine (if you can think of a better name please use it) whenever they're in public. I decided to fill it myself because I thought about it a lot, and also I felt like drawing.

Note: This picture is not sexually explicit, in fact, there are almost no sexual tones to it, apart from that Gerard is crossdressing.

But! The picture has a ~~little~~ plot bunny to go with it, because otherwise it wouldn't make much sense.

Not that the plot bunny makes any sense.

Frank/Mikey VanDays Accidental Drawing

I was meant to be practicing a new way of drawing perspective where you use cubes to determine depth, and then one of the cube people turned into Frank! and then a new cube person appeared underneath Frank and it was Mikey! And suddenly there was also a background, and I'd been drawing for like six hours, and the Accidental VanDays drawing was born.
